Reiki for Grief, Loss, and Life Transitions

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of alternative therapy that originated in Japan. It involves the transfer of energy from the practitioner's palms to the client to promote healing and relaxation. Reiki works to restore and balance the energy in the body, has been shown to have a positive impact on physical and emotional well-being.
Sessions are either1/2 hour or 45 minutes in length, depending on what you prefer. Reiki is not massage, so it is done with clothes on, and hands can be placed directly on the body, or depending on comfort level, hands can be placed just above the body.
In person and distance services are offered.

Reiki for Grief, Loss and Life Transitions
Reiki can help move the emotions that come with grief, loss and life transtions through the body by gently balancing the body's energy flow, which can release trapped emotions, allowing individuals to process and express their sadness in a safe space, often leading to a feeling of emotional release and a sense of lightness; essentially, Reiki acts as a tool to help the body naturally heal from the physical and emotional manifestations of grief by addressing energy blockages.
When you are dealing with grief, loss or life transitions, Reiki can be a wonderful way of soothing our energy field and promote relaxation. These life experiences can come with with fear, anxiety, fatigue, anger, irritability, loss of appetite, and overwhelm to name a few, which is completely normal.
Grief can not be "fixed"- it is not a problem or illness but a process to be moved through, eventually we learn to co-exist with it. As we learn to re- orient ourselves to life, we learn to laugh and enjoy again. When we allow our grief to be witnessed by ourselves and others in safe spaces, we acknowledge and honor it as the profound human experience that it is.

Hi. My name is Dina . I was a therapist and grief counselor for 25+ years. I am also a Reiki Master. Although I have loved the work I have done with clients in that "counselor" capacity, working with energy has always been my passion. Being a therapist by trade, I do believe I have the ability to create a space of safety infused with compassion that fosters relaxation and clarity.
Although Reiki does not take the place of a good counselor during times of difficulty, it can be a wonderful addition to routine of self care that can support the the body, mind, and spirit.
